New evidence supporting the beneficial effects of mindfulness meditation and health education on older people experiencing memory decline has been provided by a team from the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) and the University of Caen Normandy, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Jena (Germany) and University College London. Their work has been published in the journal Alzheimer’s & Dementia: Diagnosis, Assessment & Disease Monitoring.
‘Subjective cognitive decline’ refers to self-reported cognitive deterioration despite normal scores on standard cognitive tests. Research indicates that such individuals are at increased risk of objective cognitive decline.
